Letting DC fall asleep in my bed then moving them?

So my DC aged 4 has been very sad recently as he feels he's not been getting as much attention as new baby (bless him) I have been making a huge effort to make him feel he's getting plenty (probably more than before new DC arrived..)

He said he really wants to sleep in my bed, which he pretty much always used to do til he was about 3, and then still really wanted to every night since I started making him sleep in his own bed all night! So the last few nights I've let him sleep in my bed and he's an angel about it! Goes straight off to sleep and is feeling much better about whole baby situation. The thing is he takes up half a double bed with his sprawling. He's a big lad for 4 and DP can never sleep in the bed as there is just no space(😂)

Would it be mean if I let DC fall asleep in my bed then moved him to his own? I really don't want to risk doing it and him being upset and confused and angry in the morning 😭😭

I wouldn’t move him unaware. I’ve let my son fall asleep in our bed and then moved him before but we made a deal about it before bedtime

Tell him first so that he doesn't get a nasty surprise in the morning.

I agree, DD loves this, but it’s an agreed plan. I don’t see the charm of it myself, it’s DH who always suggests it if she’s roving about. Turns out he did this when he was little too.

I always tell my DD that I am going to move her, if she falls asleep in my bed and she is fine with it, so I'd just tell him.

I wish I'd never started this tbh. Just removed my 11 year old to his own bed!

I do this with my 6 month old :0
