Newborn upwards baby carriers

Anyone with any advice? I never really used a carrier with my first, so it's all new to me. I understand that some are better for babies than others. I don't want to spend an absolute fortune on one, and I realise that they vary and what suits one might not suit another but I'd be grateful of some starting suggestions to give me a point of reference to begin with. Thank you in advance Smile

I would get a stretchy wrap for a newborn, something like a Caboo is good if you're not confident tying one.
Then a buckled carrier is good from 3/4 months - though you can use them from newborn. They usually have a newborn insert if you want to do that.

I like Rose&Rebellion carriers but there are lots of good brands/styles - Ergo, connecta, tula, manduca.

It's worth trying a few out - either go to a sling meet/library or you can hire through the post - think "it's a sling thing" do postal hires.

I liked my Ktan for the newborn stage, no faff and very comfortable, baby loved sleeping in it too.

Go to a sling library. I've just hired a stretchy wrap for £6.50 for 4 weeks. It's a Hana one and is so comfy. But my baby is 5 months now and needing something more structured. Would have been perfect for her early months.

Definitely look up your local sling library. I carried my first daughter a lot but disnt uae the library, have had so many tips that have helped me so much with my second. I use a hana wrap which ive found amazing, jad a kaboo first time but much prefer this. Also use an ergo. You can try differnt ones and see what feels most comfy for you xxx

Agree with finding your local sling library and hire a few first.

Stretchy wraps like moby, hana and caboo are fantastic for the first few months. I've used structured carriers and have a caboo DX Go but my ring sling is my go-to sling. it fits in my bag easily or I can wear as a scarf and just use as needed. Super quick and DS loves it for cuddles. He's getting a bit too heavy now at 13kg and 3.5 years but I've certainly had my money's worth out of it.

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate your views and experiences. I'll look in to my local sling library! Flowers
