I can't seem to have any kind of conversation with my daughter beyond yes and no answers. She won't expand on anything voluntarily and if I try to elicit more info e.g. what she did in her lesson, what did she draw in art, it's like I'm interrogating her. If she does actually engage with a question she'll answer in the most obtuse manner. It's as if she's trying to find the most unconnected non sequitur answer possible (except she isn't actually trying it's like it comes naturally to her) . Or she struggles with a basic question. If I asked what colour is the sky she'd be like what do you mean? She's very bright but it's like she feels no imperative to answer more or engage. I used to get really frustrated as every interaction descended into a battle of wits but now I just give up or don't bother asking.
Help!
