3 year old tantrums

At my wits end here with the most horrendous tantrums from our three year old 😩 the screaming, kicking, throwing things, it’s like she’s possessed!

I’m sat in the other room listening to DH put her to bed and she’s worked herself up into such a state it breaks my heart.

It’s normally due to wanting to do things herself, mostly dressing/undressing. Which of course she’s not quite got the hang of yet. She’ll attempt it, then when it doesn’t go right straight away the tantrums start. God forbid we try and help her or even coach her / show her the right way for things to go on. I feel like we’ve tried everything but bedtimes are such a battle now.

What can we do? Do we just have to ride it out? They’re absolutely awful, it doesn’t make for a relaxing start to her night at all!

Any advice very welcome!

I have a 2 year old with a little temper growing, like you it seems to come out of frustration. His defuse pretty quickly when it's ignored and he doesn't have an audience. So when he starts to stomp and kick, I get up and leave the room. Sometimes he needs a minute on the floor to himself screaming, but 8 out of 10 times he follows me out of the room. I then say to him 'do you need mummy's help' and he will say yes and let me help. If I stay in the room or try to engage, it's like it feeds his tantrum and it grows bigger and louder. They are all different though Thanks
