My 4 1/2 month old seems to be constantly unhappy. A few days ago he started groaning/moaning whilst sticking his tongue out a lot. he's been doing that for 3 days, only stopping when was asleep. Today he started off with the groaning and sticking his tongue out and now he's inconsolable. Could this been teething? I've felt his gums and I can't feel anything (alothough in some places they feel a little rough) and they don't seem swollen. He has been drooling a lot and wanting to put everything in his mouth. Any help?

It’s hard being 4 months old! The teeth can move around well before they come up. We had two months before they cut through.

Ps keep an eye out for nappy rash, as all the extra saliva is acidic(?). Not nice having a sore bum as well as sore teeth.

Ah he does have a bit of nappy rash! We're really careful when changing him, making sure he's totally dry and applying nappy rash cream so that explains why he's sore.
We're off to the doctors for his 4 month jabs later (poor boy!) so I'll nip to the chemist for the granules. Thanks!
