Asking on behalf of someone else.

My friend wants to know, her daughter will not eat anything. She's tried everything, keeping her involved in the process of buying food and making it. Buying special plate and cutlery for her, sticker charts etc. She's completely tired with it all and she's now doing the whole 'don't eat dinner then you won't have anything else' but her little girls waking up or just not sleeping because she's hungry. What should she do? Make her some food, leave her?

She's been sending her to bed with some toast or cereal but now LG knows, she's going to get something before bed.

Help please!

Whaty age is she and what foods does she eat?

I think she just has to be firm and put up with the disrupted nights until it sorts itself out. Mine had a cup of milk before bed until she was nearly five. So if she wouldn’t eat, she never got anything else, no toast, no nothing. But at least she always had the milk, which because it was an everyday thing wasn’t a reward for not eating. If she woke up hungry, she woke up hungry. One of us got up and put her back to sleep. It meant for some disruption to sleep but in the long run, she’s not a fussy eater and that’s ultimately made life much easier.
