Am I doing the best I can?

If my mil could I bet she would raise my twins. She's the "helpful" type.
She said she didn't know I coped and that I must be plonking them in front of the telly .
They are in front of the telly sometimes but I don't really think about it. I just enjoy being their mum, doing what I can. For example, say I'm ironing they'll watch telly for a bit in the same room playing with their toys.
Am I doing parenting wrong? They are my first.

I'm sure you are! If mil makes comments again just make nice comms us back with a smile such as "we cope really well thanks! Don't we twin 1 twin 2!" "Oh we have our challenging days but we cope just fine thanks for asking!".
A little appropriate telly does no harm!
