10 week old constantly sucking fists

Honestly, if she isn’t feeding or sleeping theyre in her mouth. It’s not just a gentle suck either she goes absolutely mad on them like she’s ravenous and she’s trying to eat them. Any ideas what it could be? It’s starting to concern me slightly!

Could just be baby finding her hands, my boys 7 week and is starting to do the same. He'll sometimes stop feeding just to suck his fist. X

She wants to suck. Babies have a very strong sucking instinct. Controversial I know but give her a dummy.

My ten week old has started this too; I think it's just him finding his hands! X

I'm sure it's fine she's just discovered how to do something to comfort/enjoy/satisfy herself and is revelling in it! My now 9mo learnt to suck her thumb at around 12 weeks and it was never out her mouth for months but in the last few weeks she's totally lost interest in it.

Like @Singlenotsingle said perhaps try a dummy. My health visitor suggested it as DS was doing the same or sucking his thumbs if he found them. Her theory was that you can take a dummy away in the future but you can't take away his fist and thumbs. I tried the dummy and it worked once but he seems to have stopped showing cling his fists as much anyway.

Mine’s just started doing the same thing and is also 10 weeks. She’s only found her left hand so far but does get a bit frenzied when sucking it! I assumed it was a hunger cue at first but she does it even after a big feed so now I figure it’s just a precursor to everything getting shoved in her mouth.
