Sorry if this isnt the right place to discuss/vent but why oh why do they have to be so expensive?
I feel obligated to purchase my Ds photo as they are always nice to look back on, but £15-£20 when things are financially hard makes me feel shit for having to even consider whether I should be buying it.
I have got the cash out ready to pay - deadline is today. However I know it will make us short this money (nothing new there).
Do other parents always buy their childs photos or dont you bother?

I buy them every 2 years Rec, Yr 2, Yr 4 then Yr 6.
My reason being they really have not changed that much in the year but certainly have in the 2 years.
Is that something you could consider?

I bought Rec, Year 6, Leavers pic.

Then Yr 7, secondary and I will buy Yr 11. Maybe Yr 13 if dc stay at school for Sixth form.

We aren’t at that stage yet but I can’t imagine I’ll buy them. Overpriced and generally rubbish.

You don't have to buy them all, or any.

These days, when people's phones have such decent cameras, we have loads of better photos than school photos so they are just not neccessary.

I buy reception, yr6, yr7, yr11. I only buy other years if they are actually nice photos.

yes and its funny you should say that as I only purchased his pre-school one in February, and he really hasnt changed much, just his uniform colours.
As its the reception photo, I may go ahead and get that one, but thats a good point every few years.
Thank you
