Hand, foot and mouth?

My son had a temperature for 2 days and pretty much just slept the days away. Night time he would wake up every couple of hours inconsolable.

The last 2 days he's been more or less back to normal except now he has a few spots/rashes. We didn't think much of it at first as he'd just got a new bubble bath and he nearly always reacts to new bath products.

To begin with we just thought it was teething. Then I got worried it might be chicken pox, but now I'm pretty sure it's hand, foot and mouth.

From what I've read, I just have to wait for it to clear up. I'm not really sure whether or not I can take him out until then though?

Should I bother to take him to the doctor to confirm?

Sounds like the same as my DD had a month or so ago. I never took her to the doctor as she was happy enough, just waited for the rash to go away. It was annoying, but we were quarantined for about a week
