Hi all,
My 10 month old had been unwell for over a week with a viral infection / cold, been to doctors & walk in centre and they both said the same thing, anyway he seemed to be recovering and has been fine the past couple of days, all has cleared up. So im thinking this is unrelated, last night he only had 2 hours sleep as he was up all night screaming and crying, i tried everything possible to settle him and help him, not one thing worked, his belly was pretty tense but he was screaming and rolling onto his front trying to get comfortable but failing and ending up histerical again - i thought he was constipated so i tried everything in the book to relieve him, at around 8am he finally fell to sleep untill 3pm, he woke up and again kept crying and was generally cranky and upset, he had a poo and i thought great! But now hes still crying and seems uncomfortable (not as bad as last night) hes eating and drinking fine also. Theres nothing obvious that could be wrong, no temp nothing.
Any advice?

Keep looking for signs of what could be wrong. Look in his mouth, are there teeth ready to pop through the gum? Check his chest and back for any signs of spots emerging. Keep a log of when he eats, what he eats, quantity and log fluids. Make sure plenty of fluids are being taken - his normal milk (breast, formula), some water perhaps though at this age they tend to get most fluid from their milk and food. Gather information, see if he is eating as normal, taking fluids as normal, producing wee and poo as normal.

Try to find a position in which he is comfortable, that may be in a sling attached to you, it may be resting on you at a certain angle.

Did you try calpol/ibuprofen to see if that helped?

I remember going through a similar night with my 6mo, I was close to going to a&e- thought something serious must be happening! But he was fine after a day! Horrible to go through though.
