Poor LB had been sneezing all day yesterday and I suspected he might be coming down with a cold as I've had something that didn't materialise.

He is really struggling to breath. The snot sucker I had didn't work. I've put a bowl of vapour bubble bath under his Moses basket as I don't have any Albas oil yet and not sure newborns can be exposed to it anyway??

His Moses basket is also raised as he wmhas been congested since birth.

I've been up every hour with him feeding or trying to calm him where he is clearly struggling 😩

I'm off to the chemist first thing but any remedies would be greatly appreciated! It breaks my heart seeing him so sad.

Infant saline nasal drops are good but just ask the pharmacist as they'll know what's best
It's awful when they have a cold as you can't explain to blow their nose .... catch him quick when he sneezes as they often just breath it back in their nose 🤢

Our wee one had a lot of colds when he was tiny. The bulb snot suckers are rubbish, we used the snufflebabe nasal aspirator (it’s a bit gross as you suck it out but it really helps).

You might be able to get saline nose drops but I think all the olbas oils/vicks etc are all for 3 months.

Poor wee thing, it’s awful when they’re so little. If you’re having a steamy shower bring him into the bathroom in his bouncer or basket

Saline nasal spray is torture to administer (for the adult) but works very well so do persevere. Once they settle down, they have a clear nose for a bit.

It's super, super gross but I once sucked the snot out of mine's nose 🤮

'Snuffle babes' is baby version of vicks vapour rub.

Calpol plug in menthol thing is good but I found a few drops of olbas oil on a Muslin hung on the other side of the room worked on the same way.

And a cold steam humidifier can help too. Poor little thing, and poor you! ❤️
