Prefolds for a newborn - big mistake?

I have a friend offering me some Bambino Mio nappies. Haven't read many rave reviews about them.

Anyone like prefolds for a newborn? BM have a fold for 'loose stools' on their website.

I started using cloth when ds was older and if I have another I think I would just use terry sqaures or muslim with a liner and wrap for a newborn. You have to change their nappies so frequently that they don't need much. Poos and wees aren't as big as when they are older as well. Also as they grow SO quickly its not worth spending alot of money on nappies. I would invest in some good shaped nappies for later.

quokka- muslin!!! you're post had an entirely different meaning !!

go to the nappy lady and check out the angel fold

do it with nippas

I did it with mine, from newborn, a couple of leaks, but nothing major

a lot of people don't like prefolds but I've used them every day for two kids, not good for nights though

sorry on my 3rd glass of wine and its soooo hot here (s'pore). and yes there is a time difference, and the kids are tucked up in bed!

Might as well give them a go anyway. Nothing ventured...

the fold on the BM website seems similar to the angel fold you mention, cappuccino

Personally, I didn't get on with pre-folds for my daughter - found they leaked too much.

But, if you are getting them for free, it is worth giving them a go.

Axx

You can always use them as an insert for pocket napppies later, even 2 at a time!

Can you nippa Bambinos? Would that be better for poo?

we use mio bambino and have found them to be very good, no complaints, no leaks, easy to launder, tho we have no experience of any other nappies
