Going mad, no sleep!!

I have a 6 week old boy and we have tried absolutely everything for colic/wind and he still will only sleep on me! He also is displaying signs of silent reflux so is currently on Gaviscon.
He screams his head off until he's hoarse, then he will have a huge poo. But then will start again. He also makes this grunting/straining noise when he is in his moses basket keeping us awake. Seen health visitor and GP, waiting for paedetrician appointment. Health visitor just thinks it's bowel immaturity.
Anyone ever experience this? help!

I have the same problem with my DS who is 8 weeks old. He has reflux and will only sleep on me, night and day. Any other position causes him pain.

We are doing baby massage classes to see if that helps. Infant gaviscon has no effect and is a pain to administer as he’s EBF.

I know you say that you can’t have your baby sleeping on you at night, but I have now accepted that this is the only way we both will get any rest. I prop myself up on pillows and make sure he can’t roll off me. I figured that he’s actually safer with a rested parent than one who’s about to have a breakdown 🤷‍♀️

Dreadful night again last night, going to go to the walk in centre today.
Stellar: I think I’m too nervous to have him sleeping on me in the night, I’d worry so I probably wouldn’t sleep anyway lol!

This sounds so similar to our little one. I hadn’t considered CMPA as I thought it came with other symptoms like eczema and bloody stools?

Ours gets terrible wind and cries every time she farts as well, and she farts a lot!

She’s just hit 9 weeks and will now sleep on her back at night, but only in the bed with us and if I move more than a cm away from her she’ll wake up! Still, it is an improvement on only being asleep on me. We’re seeing improvements but it is slow going.

Mine was the same and it turned out to be CMPA. As soon as she was on the prescribed milk she was a different baby. Go back to your GP or some surestart centres have walk in Dietician appointments.

Mine never had eczema or bloody stools.

@Bethacus have a read of this on CMOA from Allergy UK. Has your LO been checked for tongue tie too?
