Wetting through nappy every night

Hi, my 14 month old DS has recently started soaking through his nappy every night for the last few weeks. Not much has changed in his intake of water, milk, etc. He’s started to wake earlier because he isnt comfortable and with it getting cold he ends up freezing.

He only has 2 6oz bottles of milk, morning and night, and between 1-2 6 oz bottles of water a day, usually a milk after breakfast, water after lunch and dinner then milk in his cot.

I cant stop his bottle right before bed as its routine and how he knows its bed time...

Use asda little angels but tried aldi and pampers this week too and theyre all still the same!

Have you tried going up a size, my three boys all did this at some point.

Bananarama12 · 01/11/2018 10:02

I've tried a nappy and pull on over the top (a size up from nappy) the last few nights and it's worked.

5BlindMice · 01/11/2018 10:05

We’ve same problem and recently gone up to pampers size 5, (he’s approx 25lb) that combined with a vest extender so the nappy isn’t compressed seems to have helped a huge amount.

have you tried a 4+ or 5 or whatever the next size is for you? dd is 14 months and I've bought 4+ for same reason. they have a higher capacity.

scaredofthecity · 01/11/2018 18:19

Definitely size up. We used to use different size nappies for day and night. Did you know the plus sizes have a larger capacity?

bourbonbiccy · 01/11/2018 20:40

Yep I would go up a size and see how he gets on.

Looneytune253 · 01/11/2018 20:51

We always had to change our 2 dds before we went to bed every night right up until they were out of nappies

StressedToTheMaxx · 01/11/2018 20:53

We had this with ds. We just put in 2 nappies and seemed to work well.

Caterina99 · 02/11/2018 11:56

DS was in regular aldi nappies during the day and then a size up pampers baby dry overnight. Even then he was still often damp on a morning, but a lot better than soaking wet

Oneinthegrave · 02/11/2018 15:09

Thanks for all the replies, he’s in 4+ nappies would 5 not be massively huge?! I’ll try them, thankyou

Definitely size up! Take the size guides on the packets with a pinch of salt and just try it. Even if it doesn't work just now, keep the pack anyway for when he does grow bigger.

FWIW my 2 year old still wears nappies at night (toilet trained for daytime only) and he is size 6 so we need to change him around 11pm or the bed will be wet in the morning. So might just be that your LO is a camel like mine andy you'll need to get in the habit of changing them last thing at night (if going up a size in nappies doesn't solve it)

Aldi and got up a size or a size +
