My baby won't stop pooing!

DS2 is 10 weeks, mostly breastfed, has one bottle formula per day. We've recently switched from the cartons to the powdered stuff and whether it's a coincidence I don't know but he is constantly pooing! I know it can be normal for them to poo with every feed at this age but it seems to be once with a feed, plus once or even twice more in between. It's killing me at night Hmm he used to go through (other than feeds) with a single nappy change at midnight - last night I changed him five times.

The other thing that has changed is he's drooling a lot suddenly so I thought it could be that he's swallowing more spit, as it often looks very "shiny" and mucousy if that makes sense. Usually yellow, sometimes a bit greenish.

I'm not worried as much as I am baffled. Older DC used to be the textbook once-a-week poonami so this has me stumped. Has anyone else had this? Was it a phase? Luckily he seems to have cast iron bum skin with no hint of a rash.

12 x I’m 24 hours was about normal for e at this age-exc lusively b f

Mine went through a short phase of this. It could be related to the drooling

DD1 had a dirty nappy every time. I was stunned when DD2 was sometimes only wet! Part of DD1's issues was allergy to what I was eating and feeding her through my breast milk, not that we knew that at the time, but she couldn't tolerate formula (it has/had food colouring in it to which she is allergic). She also had horrible nappies while she was teething and both my DC had all their teeth before their first Christmas (both spring babies). If you're worried, have a chat to your HV.

Sorry, I meant mine at that age would pooh 12 times in 24 hours.

Was very frustrating at night as baby would poo h and get sleepy at same time and I would have to change nappy and then he'd be awake again!

Yes! Well, touch wood, he seems to be back to normal (if anything is normal when you're only 10 weeks old). He is really working on thumb sucking so that is making him very drooly.

I can't believe formula has food colouring in it, how weird! You'd hope they'd only put stuff in there with a nutritious value. Shock I'm not worried about allergy at this point.
