Just wondering if anyone has any experience of extreme clinginess in a toddler or strategies for dealing with it. My little boy will be 2 in Feb and recently his clinginess to me is extreme!! Has always been fairly sensitive/clingy in comparison to his peers though this had improved until recently. He’s with grandparents and a childminder part time and doesn’t have any issues in me leaving him there but when we’re together he just constantly wants me to pick him up! I’m trying my best to be sympathetic but it’s quite wearing! It’s to the point he isn’t keen for my husband to change his nappy etc, just me. We do groups throughout the week but he won’t explore or play, just clings to my leg or wants picked up. I do try and gently encourage him but if I’m honest I find it embarrassing to deal with at times in public. Any hints/tips would be greatly received!
