Got Bag Question

Hello!

My house temperature seems to flit between 18 to 21’c. According to the Grobag info I have that’s the difference between using a 2.5tog or a 1tog 🤔

I have a 1tog but don’t want her to over heat or get to cold! Just wondering what you ladies would do.

Sorry meant to say I have a 2.5tog

Too cold is preferable to too hot.
What is she wearing and how old is she?

CJ1990 · 26/10/2018 19:34

She’s 8 weeks - I normally have her in a vest, onesie and then a cellular blanket. She hates blankets though and doesn’t sleep well so wanted to try a gro bag. Thinking it maybe more cozy for her

I’d probably do babygrow plus 1 tog bag, if she seems like she’s too cold or it’s a chiller night then I would add a vest. See how she gets on. Better to err on the side of a bit chilly than to overheat.

I posted a similar question.. Although ds is 7 and half months old and our room is usually about 18 but currently going between 16/17.. I usual have him in a sleepsuit and 2.5 tog bag but not sure if he should be wearing more .. Eg short sleeve vest plus sleepsuit plus 2.5 tog bag..

mindutopia · 26/10/2018 20:10

Our house is about that (though closer to 18). Mine is in a long sleeved vest, baby gro and 2.5 tog bag. 1 tog would definitely be too cold for the overnights. Can you regulate your thermostat so it stays a bit more stable?

microwavetable · 26/10/2018 20:13

I would personally go for a 2.5

1tog won't last long with the cold weather coming so if you haven't bought yet it seems a waste of money. I have dd 17mo in a 2.5 tog and her room says 23 currently.

Ds 10w is in a 1tog (only because up until now our room has been 24+) and now has a vest and sleepsuit under it, but I will be getting a 2.5 soon

dementedpixie · 26/10/2018 20:17

What's the lowest temperature overnight? I would use that to judge. I'd personally get 2.5 tog at this time of year

I found this on Pinterest when my baby was little and found it helpful

I'd do short sleeved vest, baby grow and 2.5tog. Really don't think 1 tog is suitable for winter.

CJ1990 · 26/10/2018 20:21

Thank you :) so maybe a onesie and the 2.5tog?

Yes, at 8 weeks I'd do onesie and a 2.5 tog. Throw a vest on if you think she's cold.

Smurf123 · 26/10/2018 20:36

Thanks @spr
I’m going to go with vest babygro and 2.5tog tonight
