So I have a 3yr old little man who will not for anything stop taking the dummy off his little brother and cousin. I've tried everything I can think of. I've given prizes for not having it, sending him to his room, taking stuff off him. I just can't get him to stop! He is constantly taking them, hiding them and making my life so much harder coz he wakes bub up and making it a fight to be able to put his brother down for sleeps! Anyone have any suggestions for getting him to stop? He's getting quite violent with the way he is taking them too :(

wiw, how strange his obsession with doing that. And I’m amazed at 3 he keeps doing it despite punishments! Not sure what to suggest other then clamping down on it quickly and consistently every time for a few days. Or try the positive praising. Every time he walks by baby and doesn’t touch the dummy say ‘well done you. So good for not touching Jonnys dummy. Such a good boy’ and keep monitoring and doing over and over.

Thank you I think I'll try the positive thing. I thought it was weird that with him being 3.
