Stupid breast milk expressing question...

I am going back to work soon and trying my hardest to build a supply of stored breast milk for my DD. Haven’t really got a great supply anyway but my best chance tends to be if she prefers to play than feed early in the morning.

HOWEVER! This morning I was expressing and she kicked off on her playmat which ended up with me feeding her - therefore nicking all the milk that was meant to be in the bottle! I want to try through the day but am I under the incorrect understanding that you shouldn’t mix milk from different times of the day? Or is it fine to siphon off what I can through the day and combine it in one milk storage bag then freeze?

This is probably over thinking it but I don’t want to step wrong!

Is this any help?
I think you can definitely add in milk over a certain period of time...

My understanding is that you are fine to mix and match expressed breast milk so long as you put the earliest date on there so you don’t keep it for too long, if you see what I mean.

Thank you both! Huge help! I was only using the limited advice on the NHS website (and also my DH who is obviously a seasoned professional at this stuff Hmm)

You can but make sure it is the same temperature. So don't add just expressed milk to the earlier one if it's been in the fridge. Make both cold then add or both at room temperature.
Didn't know if you knew but the advice is not to shake bm. I just swirl it under warm water to mix the fatty stuff back in when about to feed xx
