Hi ladies,

My boy is 9 weeks old and I want to try expressing to give me a bit more freedom (he has been EBF). We have tried him a couple of times but he just starts crying and won't even try to suck. He has a dummy so is used to these. Any tips on how to encourage him to suck? I expressed some milk onto the teat which got him to open his mouth but he couldn't suck. I have tried in the evening and also during the day after he has had a bit to eat first.

Keep trying. Have someone else feed him the bottle. Try feeding with him in bouncy chair or pram. Try in a sling walk a bit try him with a bit if he cries start walking again.
