Footwear for nursery

Hi, my 14 month old isn’t walking yet (although is crawling) so we haven’t bought her any shoes yet. She plays outside every day she’s at nursery and currently does that in just her socks. This has been fine whilst it has been warm, but now it’s cooling down I need to get her something for the winter. I’m reluctant to buy “real” shoes as she’s not walking and I think wellies she’ll just pull off all the time. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What about little leather slippers?

Or moccasins? We got Clark’s first shoes when we were in that situation - they’re softer and more lightweight than the standard shoes.

Other shoe shops / brands may also do softer shoes for crawling babies.

My dd's wore "grippy socks" indoors at nursery - they are socks with rubber or plastic grips on the sole

Waterproof booties like these are good.

We've got a couple of pairs of shoes from dotty fish (leather slipper-like shoes) for this very purpose. Lots of styles available on Amazon and very cute! www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_4?k=dotty+fish+shoes&sprefix=dott&crid=1L04BP9BGDH5K

I use the moccasins for my daughter. They are great for putting on when out and about now it is a bit colder. They are just like socks with a soft shoe on the end. I got mine from Sainsbury's. Great for a 5er and they stay on and can go in the wash.

Thank you so much everyone! Bought some of the slipper moccasins in Sainsbury’s today and ordered some dotty fish. They should kept her snug whilst out and about.

Our nursery just put them in thick socks covered by a pair of nappy bags and then another pair of thick socks - warm and waterproof, cheap and don't fall off or hinder walking.
