Hi all
My baby is 5 weeks and seems hungry at night time. During day he is not bothered to have milk. I have to sometimes force it.
Just wondering how often do u feed ur child and how much ?

It is normal for babies to want more milk at night. It is because babies know to breast feed at night as this is when lactating women produce the hormone needed to increase milk production. Even if you are formula feeding babies till instinctively know to feed at night.

You should never force your baby to feed. If you need to encourage them depends on if they are healthy and putting on weight or not.

What jackshouse said. I assume you formula feed because you talked about 'how much'? I think advice is to feed on demand (or before!).

My LO has 5oz every 3-4 hours, although sometimes he has less and sometimes he has more, and on occasion he will only go 2 hours between feeds. It may be that your LO is cluster feeding at night which is completely normal as this is what a breast fed baby would instinctively do to up your supply. I wouldn't force feeds though (unless losing weight) - feed on demand and follow baby's lead.

My 4wo is currently taking about 4oz every 3-4 hours. He tends to go longer during the day and shorter at night
