When to set a bed tjme

Hello!

Just wondering when you set a bed time for your little one. I go up at 8:30 pm with my little one, she’s almost 7 weeks. But that’s more for my sanity than anything. It also seems pointless as she’s so restless until about 11pm....nothing really settles her. If it does it only works for 10mins and she’s back up again.

Everyone tells me babies need a set bed time etc but when is the right age? I feel 7 weeks is still too young, or am I totally off the mark there and failing bed time miserably!

Way to young. Until 6 months every sleep needs to be in a room with another adult anyway.

Yea I’d always stay upstairs with her, but not sure if taking her up st the same time would vaugley help (the desperate sleep deprived side of me who’s baby won’t sleep is asking! haha!)

I don’t think it will make a difference. Cuddled her to sleep and enjoy TV if you want it go upstairs and sleep with her if you need to. Like most parents you will probably have a long road with sleep issues ahead of you so just fo what’s best for you for now.

We didn't bother until he started showing signs of being restless and unsettled. About 5.5 months he wouldn't settle downstairs with us and was really ratty. So we tried a bed time routine and it worked great.
