Grinding teeth

I have an 8 month old who has his front teeth, top and bottom. For the last day or two, he's been grinding them - it's making me wince!

I think more teeth might be on the way but he won't let me get a good look. Is this a sign of teething or something to worry about?! So far I've just been trying to distract him with a cold teething ring or a toy when he does it but he's very busy so doesn't hold his interest and stop him doing it for long!

We’ve been having the exact same issue for last 3-4 weeks with our LO of similar age. Does the sound go right through you!
We just distract him each time he starts and he tends to only do it now when teeth are hurting him.
Just have lots of toys on hand to pop in his hand/mouth when he does it.

It’s super annoying and it freaked my dh out so much he had to leave the room because he couldn’t bare to listen to it. But it’s just a weird phase. Ignore it and it will stop after a few weeks. It’s just them trying out their new teeth.

Mine did this at about the same age.
Just when I wanted to rip my own ears off it stopped.

Thanks for the reassurance all! I'll just carry on with trying to distract him for now... and hope it doesn't last too long, it sounds so horrible!
