Hi I have bought tomme tippe bottles but my boy really struggles with wind. Now read so many reviews about dr brown bottle. Its all mixed reviews but main drawback is leaking bottle.
Long story short what are your comments about Dr Browns bottle or MAM 🙄
Thanks

Tommee tippee are notoriously bad.

DD loved MAM. Can you get one of each to see which one your child prefers? After 6 weeks I would recommend boots gripe mixture for wind.

SuperstarDJ · 13/10/2018 08:51

Never tried Dr Brown but DD loved MAM. Will be using MAM again for DD2.

bluees · 13/10/2018 08:57

Thanks for quick response. I am using gripe water by my son doesnot like the taste and takes out 😒.
So far have been using tt anti colic bottles with cow and gate milk but feels like crying as my son doesn't feel satisfied rather full of wind so going to to boots now and buy MAM. And also thinking to buy HIPP organic rather than cow and gate.

We tried both for our DS who was also V prone to wind issues.

Mam all the way.

Dr Brown are very fiddly, very cumbersome bottles in my opinion and the anti colic tube was a pain because you can't shake the formula up with the tube still in, you have to take it out and put it back in once shaken which means putting it down somewhere sterile which isn't always an option.

Plus mam are prettier Grin

Smurfy23 · 13/10/2018 22:54

We started with Mam but dd's trapped wind was really bad so moved to Dr Brown's and haven't looked back. I found mams far more fiddly than Dr Brown's too

I would get one or two of both and see how you get on. Every baby is different

milknapplayrepeat · 14/10/2018 08:05

My DD suffered with bad wind and every day at 4pm she turned into a banshee. We were using Tommee Tippee anti-colic bottles but they seemed like the did nothing. Then one day I had a complete meltdown because of her screaming, rang DH at work and said he had to do something because I was at my wit’s end, and he came home with every type of anti-colic bottle to try! Grin Dr Brown’s worked for us and literally saved my sanity. I swear by them and would recommend to anyone with a windy baby. They are a little fiddley to wash but you soon get into a routine with it. We only had 4 (two big and two little) because they’re so expensive but I just used to wash and sterilise as soon as possible.

Try some different ones, as people say, and see what works for you! We also switched formula from Aptamil to SMA and that seemed to suit her better as well.

Good luck and sending you supportive vibes! Flowers

sar302 · 14/10/2018 08:11

Dr Browns every time. We switched as baby had terrible wind too

Willow4987 · 14/10/2018 08:38

Can’t comment on the bottles as we’re using TT anti colic which have been fine

However we moved from cow and gate to hipp and it’s made a difference. I found the cow and gate was really frothy which can’t have been helping the situation but the hipp is so smooth and mixes much better

Notso · 14/10/2018 08:47

Try pace feeding to help reduce wind and possibility of taking too much milk.

Jakethekid · 14/10/2018 09:06

We had tommee tippee ones and then changed to mam because of wind. My son took to them straight away.

I did notice though last week that tommee tippee now do an anti colic one. I don't think that was around 2 years ago when I had my son though .

myotherbagisgucci · 14/10/2018 09:17

We started with TT and ended up buying MAM and haven't looked back. She's a completely different baby now, so happy and content after feeds.

Lazypuppy · 14/10/2018 09:59

I use both, 2x MAM and 2x Dr Brown every day.

I don't find either leak, and both helped with baby's colic. Have you tried infacol drops to give before every bottle?

blackcat86 · 14/10/2018 10:16

I use Nuk with my dd and they are anticollic. We were told to use a medium flow teat so that she doesn't need to work so hard to feed.

Isitokaytonotbeokay · 14/10/2018 10:19

Defo mam bottles our DS took to them straight away as the tommee tippee ones we had leaked constantly, plus they are self sterilised in the microwave... Big life saver

HelenMummyof2 · 14/10/2018 13:48

I’ve used Dr Brown then moved to MAM, my LO preferred the MAM teats. DR Brown are very good at removing bubbles but like everyone else has said - they leak and it’s. Right pain! Although sometime the MAM bottles leak too..... hope that helps xx

bluees · 14/10/2018 20:34

Thanks for all the responses. I
Have changed tt to MAM. Also using colief in every feed. Wind has gone much netter but still he vomits (i guess its called reflux) now and then. Not too sure the reason. Confused

myotherbagisgucci · 14/10/2018 20:59

I use SMA Anti reflux with my MAM bottles and it seems to combat my DD's colic and reflux. Xx

Leahlane · 28/07/2021 10:41

Would someone be able to advise me? I’m wanting to know if you’re allowed to use two different babies bottles or do you have to stick to one bottle?

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 28/07/2021 10:45

@Leahlane If your baby will take two different types of bottle then I don’t see why not?

Babies tend to prefer one over the other that’s all.

Babydust13 · 28/07/2021 11:35

My sons the same we have Mam bottles he didn't like any others also he just spat out the gripe water so we add it to his milk still seems to work

Babydust13 · 28/07/2021 11:38

@bluees how are you finding preparing the colief the main reason we didn't try it is because it says you have to leave it in the warm milk for half hour before you feed but not sure that's feasible

Notyoregularmum · 28/07/2021 20:35

We had TT first… baby had bad colic and reflux so moved to MAM… they still didn’t work for her and she vomited after every feed and still had trapped wind, had to hold her up for 45 minutes after every feed. Moved to DR Brown and she is like a different baby, takes the full bottle, burps really easily and hasn’t vomited since. She also started sleeping 6/7 hours when we changed to Dr Brown.

Maray1967 · 28/07/2021 20:48

Used Dr Browns with DC2 and his colic was far less than DC1. I used to make up the formula I. Avent bottles and then transfer to the dr brown bottle so two lots of sterilising but it worked for us.
