Any ideas how to sooth a 6 week old but not get scratched to bits at the same time?

I try to sooth her to sleep and when it works the only way I can do it is if I’m right in her face shhhh-ing her (hit and miss what works!). But she has paddy’s and really hurts my face when she starts going.

The icky chance I get of sleep is trying that, but it damn hurts! Sad I’ve no idea how else to get her down. I no she’s so young and Maybe I shouldn’t be trying to get her to sleep but I’m exhausted. Last night she went down like a dream. Tonight... 😳

Mittens. And feeding, if she doesn't fall to sleep in the bottle or the boob dh used to walk her up and down the hallways because she didn't settle with me properly.
I remember not being able to get close to her sometimes because she could smell my milk or something. If I left the room and came back a few minutes later after dh cuddled her and she settled more I could do the rest and get her back to sleep.

She is still young like you said, my dd had a lot of gas at that age and would only settle if she had infacol with each feed for a few weeks until her system was a bit more mature.Or holding her in the "colic carry"
You're doing great!
