Any suggestions for a christening present for a friends second boy?

I'm a bit stuck as to what to buy my friend for her 4 month old boy for his christening.

She has another son and he's 16 months old. As you can imagine, she already has all the regular baby clothes, bits, bobs and toys she needs and her newest little boy is now using all his brothers things that he's outgrown or moved on from.

With that in mind she was very insistent that she didn't want gifts for her new little boy when he was born as her house was already 'rammed with stuff'. Her words not mine! Smile

So as I never got the little guy a gift I would very much like to give him something for his christening. Her family will cover all the traditional, keepsake gifts and personalised trinkets as that's what they like to do. No problems. For her first little boys christening I got him some foam floor mats to cushion his knees as he was near to crawling age.

I was thinking something practical yet simple. Perhaps a new set of Tommee Tippee sippy cups as he's coming up to weaning age? My toddler chewed the spout of his so I imagine the cups he'll inherit from his brother may be a bit worn too? Maybe a pack of dribble bibs for all the teething to come? Bibs get a lot of abuse and her oldest is still using them too as he needs them.

What do you guys think, please? Smile

I think booties (nice knitted ones with ties to keep them on) are a nice gift for a second child as you always lose a few and heading into winter there good for keeping feet warm in slings (where second babies spend a lot of time!)

Or some nice bamboo weaning bowls with suction cups - bamboo bamboo is one company that makes them.

How about personalised baby cutlery, or a nursery rhyme book that's been personalised... Notonthehighstreet have some great ideas x

Thanks for the ideas guys. I love them! I think I'm going to go with the some new bibs, booties for when he's in the sling (as you're right about him spending a lot of time in there!) and his own, personalised cutlery set Smile
