Just looking for whether people have used a cranial oestopath for their babies and whether it worked? Thanks

I tried it and it didn't work. It could just be that I have a very moody and miserable baby set on making my life hell Wink
The person we saw just seemed after our money and lectured me on how immunizations were poison and I was a bad mum for agreeing to them.
I may have just had a one off bad experience though as my friend tried it with her baby and said it was a massive help.
Sorry if that's not very helpful.

yes and it helped

QueenofmyPrinces · 09/10/2018 09:26

I used it due to problems my baby had with his neck, reflux and tongue tie causing feeding difficulties and it was amazing!!

@Grumblepants sorry for your experience - doesn't sound like they were being helpful at all!
@99RedBalloonsFloating @QueenofmyPrinces thank you - I've managed to get an appointment for Thursday so fingers crossed it helps!

I'm wondering whether to take my LO as well, please let us know how you get on! So many differing reviews out there Smile

pacer142 · 09/10/2018 10:58

Yes, we tried it and it probably worked, but the guy also gave us lots of tips regarding our son's dairy intolerance, so it could have been sorting that out which made him more comfortable and sleep more, so we don't know which. But, whatever, whether it was the cranial massage or the diet advice, he was well worth it. His advice re the dairy intolerance was far more useful than the drivel talked about by the GP and health visitor. His charges were also pretty reasonable - can't remember exactly, but it was something like £25 per session which is certainly not profiteering!

DD2 had 2 sessions after her tongue tie separation. It seemed helpful as she didn't start to feed properly straight after the separation but did after the cranial osteopathy - could just be coincidence. She was very relaxed and enjoyed it though!

Yes and it worked wonders. I would have paid 100x what I did. My son had awful colic and a very stiff neck from a forceps delivery. He had 2 sessions. His colic vanished overnight and he started sleeping through the night. He was so miserable before. He was like a different baby after his sessions

blueelephant91 · 10/10/2018 09:42

Thank you everyone for your replies! My LB has colic and had a pretty traumatic birth... I'll let you know how it goes! X

I took my DD as she has bad trapped wind at night, but it unfortunately didn’t help with that.
I have heard it has helped for other babies, best of luck.

Jellybabie3 · 10/10/2018 18:13

Yes. My DS has reflux and was born grouchy and crying for no reason. Cranial osteopath noted he had a stiff neck and was unable to turn his neck fully to the left as a result of failed forcep delivery. She fixed it there and then and he was happy and cheerful by the end of the session. Couldn't help with the silent reflux but my son has a particularly bad case (hospital trip looming Sad)

Best of luck for you Flowers

FranticallyPeaceful · 10/10/2018 19:11

Could a 5 month old baby have this or is it just for newborns really?

Jellybabie3 · 10/10/2018 21:03

@FranticallyPeaceful any age. Adults can have it.

RandomMess · 10/10/2018 21:04

Helped with mine too!

sallysayshi · 16/10/2018 08:32

How was the session OP?

Pringlemunchers · 16/10/2018 08:36

We tried it ( would have tried anything ). Baby was about 5/6 mnths , very unhappy, unsettled. Big baby ,emcs. Doc couldn't find a physical problem, would scream for hours and hours, nothing would help. Out of desperation, tried two or three sessions ,but also around the same time started weaning. The difference ! One happier baby. Couldn't say for sure what worked, but would say give it a try .
