When did you switch from carrycot to pushchair?

DS is three months, he’ll be 14 weeks this Friday but has almost outgrown his carrycot, and I worry he’ll start hurting his feet when kicking as he pretty much touches the bottom now! We have the Urbo2 pram from Mamas & Papas, and I’ve tried him in the pushchair attachment this morning which he seems to love! I’m just worried he’s too young as he can’t support his head 100% yet. (It does fully recline though so we’d have it pretty flat initially.) Picture attached for thoughts Smile

Thanks!!

Meh he looks fine to me, see of you can get a newborn insert if it bothers you, I have a different make but you can get a foam thing that supports the head better. www.argos.co.uk/product/6694173

Both of my children hated laying flat so were both in the pushchair with an insert thingy by 3 months! You can get head support things for most models I think.

Oh that’s a great idea thank you both!! Smile

I moved my DD at a similar age as age hated the carry cot. Seat did go pretty flat though so as yours does too I don't see a problem.

My DD Is 16 weeks but quite tall for her age and we have a Cosatto Wow and the pram carrycot is particularly short I think. She is the full length of it now, so will be getting the pushchair attachment out any day now. It reclines fully so will just keep her fully reclined for as long as possible I guess as they advise that until 6 months I think? Could you not just have him fully reclined until then?

Way before 14 weeks as they were miserable trying to see out! That looks fine.

I have the urbo and never bothered getting the carrycot. Both DDs are summer born babies and happy in the pushchair attachment laid flat. I can't remember when I notched it up for DD1. DD2 is 16 weeks and still happily laying flat.

We didn't ever have a carrycot. We had a Maclaren buggy that was suitable from birth. It came with various inserts to support tinier babies but we barely used them as we had big strong babies who disliked lying flat when out and about.

Your DS looks gorgeous and happy - methinks you're overthinking it a bit :)

12 weeks - just reclined it so it was fairly flat!

8 months! I was so reluctant to change it as he slept so well in it and had all his naps in it.
