Breastfeeding

Hello

My daughter is 5months old now and I have been exclusively breastfeeding all this time which has been going excellent ever since birth..

However I have noticed in the last week that when I feed her she cries a lot when she's on the breast and pulls off this happens on both sides of breast and it takes me several attempts to eventually get her to latch and feed quietly and normally

Can someone tell me why she may be doing this at the start of feeds now?

Thanks!

It’s possible she could be teething or it’s just something else going on making her a bit unsettled. I remember mine doing this around that age too. It lasted a couple weeks and then was fine again. Not quite sure what caused it though he was teething around them. But it passes eventually, even though it’s frustrating.

Yes I forgot to mention she is teething at the moment so that could be it! As I did read that's one of the symptoms of teething..

She does eventually feed after a few attempts..

Thank you!

My 4.5 month old daughter has been doing this occasionally also! I think it might be teething but also maybe the possible sleep regression she seems to be going through.. Wondering if she's just a bit cranky/tired/fed up with teething and confusing sleep/devopment.

Gosh.. It's no wonder we don't remember being babies!! Seems so stressful.. We probably forget for a good reason.

Oh ok so it's not just my baby then!

Yes I think it's a mixture of teething and the 4month regression..

Iv noticed she does this when she also is cranky and just wants to go sleep..

Does your baby sleep through the night?

My baby is 5months and still does not sleep throughout she wakes up every hours I still get no sleep!
