4 month regression.... is it a guarantee???

Anyone avoid the 4 month regression? Is it a guarantee? I'd love to hear that some babies don't become nightmares at 4 months! I have quite a good night sleeper at the moment.....

Oh hope so as DS is formula fed!

I deliberately avoided reading about regressions as I thought it was more likely that I’d think my DDs went through regressions if I believed in them. Both my DDs were good sleepers. I am still dubious about whether they are really a thing or just a coincidence.

I got a relatively easy regression at that age! DS carried on sleeping all night but was a bugger in the day! Didn't sleep for more than 20mins at a time Angry

Not with DC1, she was an awful sleeper from the word go, so nowhere to regress from Grin

DC2 definitely did get worse at 4 months though.

Dobbythesockelf · 06/10/2018 21:40

My dd didn't sleep well so if she had regressed at 4 months she would just never have slept.
Ds is 14 weeks so I'll let you know in a month haha.
Every baby is different so I wouldn't worry too much. After all there's nothing you can do about it anyway

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 06/10/2018 21:42

DD didn't do any of the regressions. She slept 6 hours at 3 months all of a sudden, then gradually improved to 12 hours by 6 months, which she sustained other than broken nights with clear explanations such as teething. She's now 5 and still a good, reliable sleeper.

No 4 month regression at all but we did suffer quite badly with the 8-10m sleep regression!

Our boys sleep changed at four months, but for the better.

He started to consolidate his naps, ie napping for more than 45 mins.

He also started to wake as soon as he was out in the crib, but this meant that we gradually reduced rocking, then patting etc and he learnt to self settle - without any controlled crying.

He's slept through from 7-6:6.30 since he was 6 months old.

I'm sure karma is going to screw us ince he's a toddler Grin

Nothing, I repeat NOTHING is guaranteed with children....EVER!!!

Congrats on the baby though Smile xx

Isitwinteryet · 07/10/2018 01:16

Ours never changed. Slept 12 hours from about 8 weeks. We're one of the lucky ones so we've been told!

Not at all. I waited for it with DS and it didn’t come. He was sleeping brilliantly at that age - it didn’t last unfortunately but (touch wood) it’s never been too bad. He’s two now and sometimes wakes up wanting to play with his toys Hmm

Me and his dad love our sleep though so maybe it’s genetic Grin
