Mine doesn't sleep in the cot at night, any tips on how to do this...? She's okay in the Moses basket / bouncer in the day but come
Night time when it's time for me to put her to bed she doesn't like to settle in it. Any tips greatly received!

We’re using a sleepyhead. They’re not generally recommended for night but on the first night we put her in the next 2 me she immediately rolled on to her side in a ball and wouldn’t settle.

Sleepyhead solved this instantly for us.

We were the same and got a next to me crib and it’s been amazing. DD Just wanted to be close to us - I have to half lie in her crib with my face on hers to send her to sleep...Hmm but does the job mostly! Don’t get me wrong she’s 5 weeks and it’s not perfect but the Moses basket was and still is a no go..!

Can you take the Moses basket upstairs at night? My dd sleeps really well in hers day and night so I just transfer it wherever I need it during the day

Tried putting her in the Moses basket at night but seems she just doesn't like to sleep at night without cuddles! Have read about the 4th trimester so thinking will have to ride it out..? I don't really want to buy a sleepyhead as have friends that have had trouble weaning their LO's out of them 😬

Swaddle bags were my sleep saviour!

I was very anti getting a sleepyhead but it has saved my sanity with my 4 week old who just wanted to be held all night. I was so shattered that a few times I drifted off whilst holding him and that scared me enough to reconsider. He will now go down in his crib and it’s been a bit of a game changer!

I do have concerns about weaning him off of it but am planning on doing that fairly early on but that might just be wishful thinking. At the moment, though an expensive and hopefully only a short term solution, it’s been a godsend.

I know a lot of people recommend sleepyheads but they are against SIDs guidelines according to the Lullaby Trust:

worth baring in mind before buying one.

No answer here as I’m sitting up with my 2 week old grandson at 2am as he will only sleep on someone at night. But it’s normal.

Hire a nice insomniac granny type? Lol

Isadora / same here my LO only sleeps on me at the moment at night!

Loulabelle - I’m moving my 5 month old out of the sleepyhead this week as he’s outgrown it. He never used to nap anywhere other than on me, but now I can transfer him onto my bed or a sofa and he stays asleep so I’m confident the new cotbed is going to be good.
I also never could imagine how he would sleep without a swaddle, but he started to roll so I took him out and he slept without them instantly like a dream.

Don’t worry OP it won’t be like this forever, completely normal. I remember the first couple of weeks my baby only sleeping in my arms and I was on my knees with exhaustion. Then he started to sleep for a couple of hours at a time in his swaddle bags. Now we occasionally get 8 hour stints in his own bed, it does get better!
