Night/day confusion

2lilcherubs · 05/10/2018 10:22

I think my 5week old still has night and day out of sync. Seems to think night is 3am till 11am.
I'm doing all the obvious things light and noisy day time, dark and quiet night time but not helping. Any suggestions?

I think 5 weeks is still really young to get the different between Day and night. You’re doing all the things I would do - in my head morning opening curtains and saying morning time! Etc. You will get there I’m sure. Big baby congrats xx

Thanks, I know things are still early days, dc1 had it sorted by 2 weeks.
Dc2 seems to wake up in the evening until early hours so I'm very tired. was hoping someone would suggest a few tricks

I’m no expert, but I presumed they just got it in their own time. Think it was about six weeks for my boy. Isn’t the advice to open curtains nice and wide in morning and keep things dim at night- no bright lights etc.

Though I think it’s just time- my baby also liked 3 am as bedtime

My 5 week old is the same. Awake time seems to be 9pm for a few hours then again at 4am?! :)

DS was the same, was barely awake during the day but wouldn't sleep at night. I put it down to my working night shifts throughout my pregnancy.

To be honest I can't really remember how long it lasted but he did work it out relatively quickly I think.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things, hope she gets it sorted soon!
