Almost continuously 🙈 but getting a deeper latch really helped, the flipple technique. Then they'd have a good long feed and go for 2 to 3 hrs

TheWeatherGirl1 · 04/10/2018 19:53

Oh just constantly. I got sick of the sight of my breasts.
It's not forever

pastabest · 04/10/2018 19:56

Definitely more than every hour. DD2 is 15 weeks now and still feeding every 2-3 hours. DD1 was similar.

It really does get better, and by about 8-10 weeks you will barely even notice you are doing it.

Oh bloody constantly. If my boobs weren’t out it was a miracle. Gets better quickly though!

NotTired · 04/10/2018 19:58

It was a while ago now but I clearly remember it was every 45 mins. It gets so much easier!

Queenofthedrivensnow · 04/10/2018 19:59

When did your 4 week old not feed would be easier to answer!!

SnuggyBuggy · 04/10/2018 20:00

Pretty constantly in my case too.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/10/2018 20:17

Constantly, I actually called the hospital
On my first night at home to ask if was normal as bf class said they’d feed every 3hrs or so...lies! My DD was per attached to me, so I got hooked on Line if Duty,- i’d actually love to go back to those days now, miss them so much

twattymctwatterson · 04/10/2018 20:19

Hourly. It's tough but it's totally normal at first

SnuggyBuggy · 04/10/2018 20:19

If there are any TV shows you feel like rewatching now is the time to do it

Puddlet · 04/10/2018 20:23

All The Time....! But they soon get more efficient at feeding and it calms down.

mindutopia · 04/10/2018 20:35

Yes, probably about every hour.

sissy89 · 04/10/2018 20:37

Thank you :-) this actually my 3rd baby and 3rd time breast feeding lol. But I can't remember my other 2 feeding so much. Just needed some reassurance before I go mad. I love feeding him. It's just times when I have to make tea for the other 2 DC's or get ready for the school run on a morning.....

All. The. Time. Hourly, two hourly. Definitely never three hourly. He didn't go more than about 2.5 hours until he was 6 months old!

Lazypuppy · 04/10/2018 23:43

My baby settled into 3hourly feeds, taking about 10 mins to feed from 2 weeks.

Never had any sort of cluster feeding

Welshmaiden85 · 04/10/2018 23:51

Between 10 minutes and 3 hours. Sadly always went longest between feeds around lunchtime and the fed all evening and night! Continuous is very normal at this age. It gets so much easier!

steppemum · 04/10/2018 23:59

dc1 - every 3 hours on the dot, expect 1 am which he had already dropped.

dc2 - all day and night all the time, especially 1 am 2 m 3 am 4 am 5 am ... you get the picture

dc3 I can't remember (a blur) but she wasn't as bad as dc 2 or a regimented as dc 1!

sissy89 · 05/10/2018 08:00

Thanks for the replies. I'm currently sat feeding now....dcs are making their own breakfast yet again. I'm just worried he'a not getting enough from me I suppose

ALL THE BLOODY TIME.

The only way to know if they're getting enough is through weight gain. If they're gaining weight then great. Mine did lots and lots of feeding, especially in the evening, until about 8-9 weeks and then it became more regular and spaced out.
