Hello

Mini rant here (sorry) I have posted on here before but have seen a new "issue" for lack of a better term right now.

My DD who has just turned 2 has magically turned into a completely different child in some ways. I expected her to grow and I quite enjoy a lot of her independence. My concern is the new bout of throwing we are seeing.

At first it was toys.. we were strong on no throwing from the start. Anything that wasn't soft or a ball was not to be thrown and would be put out of reach until the next day. Now she's throwing everything she gets her hands on. She doesn't even seem upset when she does it. We are still firm and explain the rules on throwing and I half know it's for attention but I am at a loss at what to do?!

I'm 8 months pregnant and just have visions of her throwing something and it wack the baby. I'm getting pretty exhausted. She goes to nursery 2 days a week and they've said she doesn't throw at all there.

Any ideas wonderful people?!x Smile

I think maybe just take stuff quietly away, no explaining, no being firm, just being boring...she's getting a reaction which is encouraging her to keep doing it. So take the reaction away, try and distract without making a huge song and dance over that either? This has worked well with DS, the more fuss we make over not doing something the more he does it.

Peach1886, ok will definitely pull back on reactions and see how we go! It's just soo frustrating at times

My DS couldn’t distinguish between throwing small balls and soft things and throwing other stuff. Blanket no throwing rule in the house. Throwing is for outside!

And yes just take it out of her hand quietly and don’t make a fuss. Hard I know
