What to do when one year old during the day

DD is 13 months old, she isn't yet walking, she took a couple steps the other day but mostly shuffles along on her bum. She wakes up about 6, has breakfast 7 or 7:30, has lunch at 12 then naps for 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon. So we're left with a few gaps between breakfast and lunch and from waking up from her nap until dinner and bedtime. I'm struggling to find things to do with her, we might go out into the garden for a bit or to the park but that's about it. It's hard to keep her entertained

Have you found any local playgroups? They're often start between 9 & 9:30 .... also cornflour play is great, you can set that up in the bathroom as it's quite messy.

Have you got a local children's centre? They do loads of activities and normally have a rota online for you to check what's happening :-)

I gave them cupboards at their height with stuff they could play with that weren't toys. Lower kitchen cupboards etc and just got on with chores. Little baskets in bedrooms with stuff in they don't see often type of thing. I dont think they need entertaining every second. Or you could go full on activities, there's more about now than when mine were little I think.

I have an 11 month old. We go to baby swimming one day of the week and a babygroup another day so that breaks 2 days up nicely is there anything like that near you? I don’t have any family I can visit but if you do would they be able to visit you or you visit them? I work 3 days a week but on the 2 days I’m not working I also do things like water or paint in a tuff tray on the kitchen floor etc.
