Lazy, addicted to iPads, asked to do their homework and it’s all gobbyness! I’ve literally lost it with my two boys (9 and 11) this evening! I think the words you’ll be living in the shed claiming benefits may have popped out my mouth - not proud.

First get a large lockable money box.
Confiscate ipads (good luck)
They get them after homework and specified chores (and miss their turn if stroppy of gobby).

I used to threaten to list DS on eBay.

Home work should be done Friday night or Saturday morning. Sunday evening really isn’t the best time for anyone, child or not.

Playtime happens after all work finished at that age.

Gobbyness results in gadgets being removed for a period of time - every time.

If you do the first two, the last won’t have to happen.

Not unreasonable to lose it though. We all do. Kids are not reasonable creatures, often.

Thank you for the tips! I need to be firm!!!! Laziness is the worst quality!

@7salmon, it’s not a one size fits all. Friday in our house is swimming, Saturday morning gymnastics, Sunday morning Church... we squeeze homework in where we can and it usually ends up being a Sunday night.

Same here, especially as we work full time. I hate getting cross but they could achieve so much more if they made more effort!
