Gift for toddler from newborn?

I'm due #2 any day and DS will turn 2 in a few weeks. I wanted to get him a gift "from" the new baby but don't know what. I saw a sweet toy train I thought he'd like so suggested it to DP. DP went out, saw it, loved it, bought it, then was so desperate to see DS play with it he gave it to him on the spot twat. DS obviously loved it. So now he's just had a new toy, and he's going to have loads more new toys in 3 weeks time on his birthday, and I can't think of any appropriate toy to go in the middle of this. DP says he thinks we should get him something keep-sakey but has so far offered no practical suggestions around what this should be double twat. Any ideas? He likes all normal toddler stuff and is getting some big things like a bike and train set for his birthday. I really wish we'd just given him the toy train 😡

We got one of the soft cuddly Steiff bears. They both now have one and love them. They are their special bears, but cuddle them in bed.

My obstetrician suggested not buying a gift 'from the baby'. We'd been thinking about getting our eldest something, then he said "If your husband brought home a younger model girlfriend, and they bought you a new handbag as compensation, would it make it all okay?" He was a funny guy, and it was a funny conversation, but he had a point. He suggested a 'You've been such a great big sister and so helpful' gift a few days later.

To answer the question though, what about accessories for the train set?

My mum madw my sister a nurse's outfit when I was born apparently and I have never stopped hearing since what a genius idea it was because all the staff at the hospital cooed over her and said how cute she was. Soa nurse's/doctors/midwife costume?

I got DD1 a baby doll but that was pretty much rejected. Should've given it to her before DD2 was born.
