Colicky baby

Baby 2 weeks and been on SMA (sadly v let down by ward as wanted to breastfeed but not proved possible). Been fine except last couple days when he’s really really windy after a feed and just crying and crying. Trying infacol but doesn’t seem to be working and hating seeing him so distressed.

Any tips? Should I change formula? Has anyone had any experience of this?

Google 4th trimester and purple crying to get a bit more of an insight into normal newborn behavior. We are, naturally, very quick to assume that things are wrong with our babies when actually we don’t really know. Wind is normal - we all have it! It’s about babies getting used to the feel of their bodies digesting milk which they haven’t had to do for 9 months. It’s interesting to read how many people experience similar things with their babies and report that infacol, colief , gaviscon etc etc don’t work. Maybe because it’s a different problem to fix?

I post this link a lot but I think it is highly worthy of consideration.

Most of the winding medicines take a week or so to work. Our DS had colic we ended up on dentinox, after trying infacol and colief with out successful.
Keep strong it is heartbreaking see them in pain without being able to help, also may be worth seeing if it may be worth trying baby Gaviscon for a bit of reflux .
