High needs 2nd child and how to spend the day

1st child is at school, DC2 is 4months. I was really looking forward to doing all the lovely baby things I did with DC1 with DC2, there being a good age gap to allow it, however, I am drained. DC2 cries all the time and wont be put down. She is also awake a lot during the night.

Ive joined 2 groups on 2 different days, paid in advance etc but I'm finding doing the 45 minute school run twice a day on very little sleep actually enough. I just want to sit at home between times and watch Netflix or go for a walk. I so want to enjoy all the things I did with DC1 and re-live those precious groups we did together ( just 2) but finding it so tough!

Any thoughts? Do you think I'm depressed? Or should I accept that staying at home and pottering around between the school runs is enough? How do you spend your time?

I’m so sorry you never got a response on your post before - I’m in a similar situation and was hoping for some insight! Does it get easier at all with a high need child?
