Santa real 🙈

My daughter is 9 shes asking for so much for christmas iv told her father christmas only gets half the toys and i have to get the rest.
Its her birthday early january as well😮 .
Im wondering when is the right age to be straight and say father christmas isnt real . Im struggling to lie really to her it gets harder and harder . The questions the complicated lies . Help 😔

I think, at age 9, she's old enough to know that Santa's not real. She probably already 'knows' but doesn't want to believe it's true.

Perhaps, by asking for the world, she's testing Santa's real-ness?

Doesn't really help you now but I've always told my son that Father Christmas brings him the stocking and the rest are from me - that way depending on money "Father Christmas" doesn't look better one year than he might the next...

My niece is a year older than your daughter and the last year of her believing she milked the Father Christmas thing - my sister was for it as she wanted it to be a special last Christmas of the believing - and then announced on Boxing Day she knew he wasn't real for ages, my sisters face was a picture Grin

Mine held out. We told her before secondary school.
However, we do Santa differently. There are presents from people you know (including parents) and there are presents from Santa.
I explained that Santa will always deliver his presents as long as she has Christmas with us but he isn't actually a real person.
She was fine with this.
It's how my parents did it.
