SIL - feeling irritated

My SIL has sent an email to all parents of n and n asking if she can watch all the kids playing sport or music as it's on her to do list this yr... all sounds nice I know but why am I so irritated by it??

She's missed my DD's birthday and doesn't phone to chat and find out what's going on!

I feel it's more about her wanting to to let it off her list...

That is a bit irritating but at least she is going to make an effort! I'd email back and say of course and that she's also more than welcome to come round to the house for lunch, catch up with you and to spend time with your dd as "She's love to show you her art/play with her new toy with you, take you to the park to play hide and seek." She might get the point, or not.
