Help! 8yr old birthday party ideas

My daughter is turning 8 and I’m out of ideas for what to do party wise. She has about 10 friends to celebrate with. We’ve done trampolines, bowling, science and horses, and there are no movies on at the cinema over her birthday. She loves being active but not all her friends are so inclined, and she loves animals and drawing/colouring/making stuff. Any suggestions very much appreciated. Thanks

My dd had a really super party where a zookeeper visited our house with lots of animals for the children to see - an absolutely enormous snake, meerkats, parrots, tarantulas etc. Lends itself best to quite a small group (less than ten) so everyone gets a chance to get close..

How about the likes of Go Ape outdoors or indoors you could go to clip and climb for various walls. Or a roller skating party.

If not sporty type then a pamper party where hair and nails are done.

Science type party where the get to make slime and stuff.

Pizza making party at pizza express

Cake pop or candle making or bath bomb making party.

Laser quest? We're waiting impatiently for that for next year when all of dS's friends will be tall enough !

Contact your local sugar craft group and see if someone will come and do a sugar craft session?
Craft party (go mad on Baker Ross!)
Home cinema with popcorn?

There's no rule about not repeating venues - DS2 had Clip & Climb parties for 2 years running!

Spy Mission?

We had a nail and hair party at this age. My DD was not a really 'girly girl' but she enjoyed this. They all got their nails painted & a hair braidSmile

A friend's daughter had a Lego party - every child got a box of Lego, they built it, played with it, it doubled as a party bag. Have it at home, party tea and job done.

can you be at home or do you need a venue? is there a theme / book / movie etc your child likes?

we have had: penguins / zoo / pirates / outer-space / harry potter / under the sea - all home parties with trad games + running around in the garden.
