Help with finding a nursery with a webcam

Hi everyone

I’m new here. I hope you are all well.

My daughter is one year a two months.

I’m looking for a nursery in West London with a webcam.

I’m petrified of leaving my daughter and I feel it will give me some reassurance.

Please let me know if you know any good nurseries with this.

Thank you :)

I really doubt such a service exists and I hope it doesn't.
Could you imagine someone getting access to (hacking into) the security camera for their nefarious reasons. Oh, it doesn't bear thinking about.
Being as kind as I can be, I think you need to figure out why you are so full of fear and anxiety OP. You have a lifetime of new places and scenarios ahead and you might be wise to look for coping mechanisms.

I have anxiety too. One of the many downsides of anxiety is that it distorts your decision making process. I have chosen a nursery for when my child is a bit older than yours currently. I based it on personal recommendations and the impression and feeling I got when I visited (out of 4). I believe that’s the best way of doing it. Having a camera there doesn’t mean it’s a good nursery. You won’t be able to watch it all the time and “protect” them. You might well get the wrong impression from the bits you do see. Try and chose a nursery you can trust instead of getting drawn into the idea of being able to intervene personally.

My children are too old for nursery but I'd hope such a thing doesn't exist. I wouldn't want people watching my child in a nursery and there's no way I'd work anywhere that I'd be on camera all day.

Thissameearth What a kind and insightful post.

Ofcourse they exist. I just wanted one closer to home. I’m sure my child would be fine in a nursery but I find it reassuring to be able to check in when I have these fears to see if she’s ok.

There’s quite a few of them. You can only see the room your child is in. Yes you can see other children but in the same way their parents can see yours.

There is one in Paddington and Stanmore. I wanted to know if there was anyone who knew of any in west London.

Does Pippa Poppins have webcams?

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2018 18:11

A colleague of mine sent her children to a nursery with a camera. They do exist.

willisurvive3under2 · 19/09/2018 18:13

It definitely exists. DS used to go to one that had cameras. This was in 2017. Ironically we moved him as we didn't like the setting. Things might have changed with GDPR now, not sure. It was all strictly limited to the hours my DC was there. Weirdly being able to watch him didn't make me more relaxed!

There is such a ridiculous misunderstanding of gdpr on this thread it's astonishing! Nurseries with webcams absolutely exist and yes, you can log on and watch your child any time you like! If other parents didn't want their children being filmed they would send them to a different nursery. By using the nursery you are agreeing to their t&c's which includes your child being filmed and broadcast over the internet

Before you shut someone down with it doesn’t exsist how about you do your research.
They do exsist.
