Anyone know the latest on whether the “mould” problem has been resolved? Our boy is 5 days old and sadly I am unable to breastfeed. We’re currently using a steriliser and formula but he is getting cranky if it’s not ready straight away and we want to avoid being up for longer than we have to

The mould problem was mostly from people from cleaning it properly/at all. I used mine for a year from birth and it never had mould. www.tommeetippee.co.uk/perfectprepcleaning

Ive got the 2017 version and never experienced any mould issue. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Although I clean my regularly and change the filter every 3 months.

Never had any problems. Just make sure you use genuine filters.

Used one with DS1 and currently using it with my 3 week old. Never had a problem - as others have said just clean often and use perfect prep filters :)

Never had any problems with mould in ours - I think a few exaggerated stories have left a bit of a legacy, TBH, even though they’ve been proven to be mould-free if used and maintained properly. So get one and use it with confidence - they’re a bloody life saver!

The newest manuals on their website have details about cleaning with a sterilising tablet every so often which weren't on the original manuals (I had one when they were brand new). I therefore assume people weren't cleaning them properly and they have taken steps to mitigate any issues from this.

As long as you clean them and use the proper filters they are a godsend!

Thanks ladies. We have just been and bought one as the other way was a complete nightmare!

Can’t wait to use it now and see the difference

I just make the bottles of formula the night before and store in fridge, then only takes 30 seconds in the microwave to heat up
