I am a parent to two young children another one on the way.
I live with dp, We're renting privately, our financial situation isn't great.
Have been in this house 3 years, private landlord next to useless isn't interested in doing anything no matter how much we ask.
We live in an area where the rent is high, it's not a particularly posh area but we're quite cut off where we are so there isn't very far afield you can really go. My work is here, our families are here, kids are settled in school here but there is water on three sides so you can't really look very far. With that considered and our financial situation we know we don't have much choice but to stay where we are which has its pros as it is very very close to school but I'm struggling.

I have a spinal cord injury. I have two healthy discs in my back and all of the others are either crushed or prolapsed. I have cauda equina syndrome and degenerative disc disease and rely on crutches, very occasionally a wheelchair. I am finding daily activities so so hard. Most things I adapt to but some things are so difficult that they are almost impossible. Our bathroom is very dated and shower over bath set up. We just have one upstairs bathroom.
Going to the toilet is difficult but washing is almost impossible, I can't bear the pain and logistics of getting in and out of the bath and I can't get in the bath and then stand for a shower.
I could manage with grab rails in a walk in shower but grab rails with a bath won't make much difference.
What can I do in our financial situation. Is there anybody I can approach for help or advice or anybody that specialises in adapting bathrooms for disabled people. My life just isn't worth living at the moment Sad
