DD is having her birthday party tomorrow morning. Can I make the sandwiches, cut up the melon, carrot sticks etc tonight or do I need to wake up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to make them? Fillings will be cheese, ham or jam. Ta

Mary berry says cover sandwiches with a damp tea towel if your preping in advance.

sleepysaurus14 · 14/09/2018 20:18

Well Mary should know! The children are only 5 so I'm sure they won't be too critical of the food but I still want it to be nice

I'd put the carrot sticks in water in the fridge. I do this in prep for Christmas dinner and they come out of the water just as orange and crunch as when they went in Smile

Damp tea towel over for the sandwiches and they'll be fine.

Cucumber and melon I'd chop tomorrow. It goes mushy in water but dries out without.

Dont make the tea towel too damp op. I dont want to be responsible for soggy sarnies. I think marys exact wording was moisten the tea towel😂

No one wants a soggy sandwich!! Smile
