Our 18 yr old Son moves out this weekend, to move in with his girlfriend, I am happy for him, but also feeling a bit lost, my husband and I have been together 20 years and are both wondering what to expect- apart from less laundry, food still in cupboards etc. Is there anyone who can advise how to cope? he's our only child. I don't know anyone in same situation that I can chat to so any one on here who can give me advice would be appreciated

My advice would be to stop looking upon this next phase as something to be "coped with" and start thinking of all the positives.

If you expect to be sad, and for this to be some sort of a 'loss' then it will most likely become self fulfilling.
If you look forward to the positives, you are much more likely to find them.
