Arranging kids party right AFTER school Christmas fair??

Hi all
Would appreciate your thoughts- my DD is 5 this December, the same day- Saturday as her schools Christmas fair. Would I be mad to arrange her party at a local hall, 30 mins- so 3.30pm-5.30pm after the fair ends? Would classmates parents be so knackered they wouldn't even contemplate coming- or maybe happy to keep festive fun going/let kids run around being entertained while they can relax/drink some bubbly with the other parents? Thanks!

I think it is likely to be too much on one day. Could you not have the party the weekend before?

You also have to remember that any party on one of the last Saturdays before Christmas is likely going to be a tricky event due to people trying to get ready for the festive season and seeing relatives.

Also since when was bubbly at children's parties a thing Shock

Do it the day after. Too knackering on the same day.

Oh, and DD's birthday is December, never had a problem with a weekend party.

Ok thanks both - will re-arrange for the Sunday. Weekends in December has never been an issue with us before in terms of lots of people still turning up- but glad I checked with you- as would be too much in 1 day.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone you've clearly been going to the wrong parties- most afternoon parties we go to (and host!) always have a cheeky glass bubbles/wine for the parents- very well received and funnily enough parents loosen up and get to know each other much better Smile
